Maintaining oral health is equally important for your pet as it is for humans.
Pet’s need dental care too! In fact, periodontal disease is the most commonly diagnosed disease in adult dogs. Bad breath, red swollen gums and tartar build-up are all linked to dental disease. If left untreated, your pet will experience significant discomfort and will require extensive dental procedures. Dental disease will also affect internal organs such as the heart and kidneys and can cause life threatening infections. At Morinville Veterinary Clinic, we believe strongly in preventative medicine. By treating dental disease in its early stages, your pet will live a longer happier life.
Each pet is an individual, with varying needs. The veterinary team will work with you and your canine to create the best treatment plan. A typical dental may include dental x-rays, scaling, polishing and extractions. All of our dental procedures are done under a general anesthetic for your pet’s safety and comfort.
Brushing your dog’s teeth daily is best. Just like us humans, pets need dental care too. Ideally, you should brush your canine’s teeth daily. As pet owners ourselves, we understand this isn’t always possible with every pet. If you are unable to brush your pet’s teeth, contact us. We can create a customized dental plan for your pet to keep their mouths and bodies healthy and happy.
Dental health is part of your dog’s overall health. Dental disease can cause many issues including pain, infection, and can even affect internal organs. It is important to detect and treat periodontal disease early before it becomes a big problem.
